A different path is possible.
Therapy and somatic yoga for Minnesota women ready to break old patterns, reconnect with themselves, and create a life that feels more like their own.
Life doesn’t look the way you expected it to.
Maybe you aren’t sure how you got here, but something feels off in your life. There is a disconnect between what you imagined your life to be and what it is. You don’t feel like the best version of yourself, and the road you’re on feels bumpy and cumbersome.
It can be daunting to make sense of how you got here or figure out what path to take next. You may find yourself caught in familiar patterns, carrying stress and tension in your body, or feeling disconnected from yourself in ways that are difficult to put into words.
You know something needs to change—but lasting change isn’t always about thinking your way through the problem. Sometimes it begins with slowing down, becoming curious about what is happening within you, and learning to listen to the wisdom of your body.
Together, we can begin to identify the patterns that have shaped your life, understand how they show up in your mind and body, and create space for something different. This work is about developing greater awareness, regulation, and choice so you can step out of old cycles and move toward a life that feels more authentically your own.
I call these women Cycle Breakers.
Cycle breaking is the work of recognizing the patterns, beliefs, and ways of relating that have shaped you—and deciding what you want to carry forward and what you want to leave behind.
It isn’t easy work. It asks you to slow down, become curious about yourself, and sometimes get uncomfortable as you learn to do things differently. But you don’t have to figure it all out at once.
Together, we’ll create space to understand where you’ve been, notice how those experiences continue to show up in your mind and body, and begin creating new ways of responding. Over time, you can develop greater self-trust, connection, and capacity to meet life as it comes.
The goal isn’t to become someone else. It’s to become more fully yourself—and to build a life that feels like your own.
Hi! I’m Alyssa
I specialize in guiding women through the bumpy parts of life.
I meet women at the intersection of how their life used to be and the unknown of how they want their life to be going forward. Maybe the path they've been on was shaped by their family, their experiences, or expectations they learned along the way. Now, something inside them is asking for something different.
Rather than simply staying the course that was set for them, they are ready to carve a different path—one that involves breaking cycles of harm, abuse, or dysfunction and creating a life that feels more aligned with who they are becoming.
My approach brings together psychotherapy and a somatic, body-based perspective. I believe meaningful change happens not only through understanding our stories and patterns, but also through developing a deeper awareness of how those experiences live in the body.
Healing isn’t just something we think about.
We experience it in our bodies, too.
Our experiences shape more than the stories we tell ourselves. They can influence how we move through the world, how we relate to others, how we respond to stress, and what we experience in our bodies.
My approach incorporates somatic awareness and yoga therapy practices to help you slow down, notice what is happening within you, and develop a deeper understanding of the connection between your mind and body.
Rather than asking you to push through or simply think your way out of difficult patterns, we can learn to listen to your body with curiosity and compassion. Through breath, movement, awareness, and other body-based practices, you can develop greater capacity to regulate, reconnect, and respond with more choice.
Somatic work can be especially helpful when you understand something intellectually but still find yourself feeling stuck in the same patterns.
